Teacher asks her 5th grade students to be bridesmaids and groomsmen at her wedding

Organizing a wedding can be stressful, especially when you’re choosing bridesmaids and groomsmen, but one woman had the perfect solution to decidingFifth grade teacher Alexandra Stamps didn’t hesitate to ask her students to be her bridesmaids and groomsmen on her special day.
The Science and Technology Elementary School teacher from Wichita, Kansas, married fiancé Mason McDowell in July, after nearly a year of dating.
Mason, who is a third-grade teacher, also wanted his students involved in their big day.
Not only did the couple invite their students to their wedding but asked them to be their bridesmaids and groomsmen.
“I love them and they’re part of my life. I want them to be up there with me because they’re my biggest fans,” Alexandra told the Wichita Eagle.
Alexandra recorded the moment she asked her students and shared it to TikTok where it quickly went viral with over 19 million views.
Alexandra begins the video by saying: “I’m about to ask my students to be part of my wedding.
It then shows her in her classroom as she tells her students: “Okay, so I have a really important question to ask you guys.
“Khloe, Mary, Reagan, Angelina, Esmeralda, Lucy, Lily, Bella, Harley – will you guys be my junior bridesmaids in my wedding?” she asks, to which the girls respond: “Yes!”
“Bryland, Max, Eric, Emilio, Kayden, Will, Conner, Jessie, Jose, and Sebastian – will you guys be my junior groomsmen?” she then asks to which the boys immediately reply with: “Yes!”
Alexandra said their students were so excited to be asked and about six or seven of them started crying.
“We spend over forty hours a week with them, and we both really love our students so much,” Alexandra said of the reason why she and her husband asked their students.
“And so I thought it would be kind of fun to include them in the festivities instead of just having them in the audience.
“I just want to give them this special part of my life. I want them to be part of it because I’m so proud of the hard work that they’ve done this year, and the fact that they’ve not only survived the pandemic — but thrived in it — and watching them grow as people this school year, they deserve to be up there with me.”

Alexandra said she checked with the students’ parents first to make sure it would be okay for them to take part and gifted the girls faux pearl necklaces and the boys colorful sunglasses. After she proposed to the students they all got rainbow-striped lollipops.
