During a White House briefing on hurricanes Helene and Milton on Friday, President Biden snapped back with “I know” after Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm gently reminded him that it was Vice President Kamala Harris’s turn to speak.Harris, 59, joined the virtual briefing, and as Biden, 81, began to wind down his remarks, Granholm prompted him to transition the discussion to Harris.
“I think we’ve saved lives, not me, but we, all of those folks out in the field have saved lives, but there’s more to do, and I’m going to do everything in my power to get it done,” said Biden as he flipped to the last page of his binder.
Granholm, 65, seemed to notice that the president had finished his prepared remarks, but she continued speaking, according to the New York Post.
“The fact of the matter is that we’re in a situation where – uh – well, we’re gonna have to …” Biden rambled before the energy secretary, seated to Biden’s left, tapped him on the arm and pointed toward Harris on the monitor.
“I know,” Biden responded. “I’m going to go to the vice president in a second.” He then joked about Granholm, “She’s my boss.
As Biden continued, he was interrupted one more time — by Harris.
“Hang on one second, Madame Vice President,” Biden interjected.
