Adventures With Purpose, a nonprofit organization dedicated to solving unsolved cold cases around the country, discovered Samantha Jean Hopper’s automobile on Tuesday in eight feet of water, according to a statement from the Pope County Sheriff’s Office.On September 11th, 1998, Hopper was reported missing.
According to a statement from the sheriff’s office, Samantha was en route to Little Rock to drop off her daughter Courtney Holt before attending a show. However, we were unable to locate Samantha, her child, or her blue Ford Tempo.The philanthropic group found the car while it was eight feet under water. According to the police, the human remains in the car will be transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab in Little Rock for DNA testing.
The Pope County Sheriff’s Office expressed its sympathies to the families of Samantha Hopper and Courtney Holt and expressed gratitude for having had even a little part in solving the 23-year-old case.
Dezarea Hopper, Hopper’s daughter, claimed on a memorial page that her mother was nine months pregnant at the time of her disappearance. Dezarea’s sibling was about 2 years old at the time. Finding their bodies, in Dezarea’s words, was “relieving.”
Adventures With Purpose released a statement saying that Samantha and her daughter had now been returned home.
