Stores Sell Out Of NHL’s Ivan Provorov Jerseys After Refusal To Wear Pride-Themed Apparel During Game

NHL player Ivan Provorov has become something of an overnight sensation in conservative circles for his refusal to adorn his body in pride apparel. Now, in just a matter of days it seems everyone wants to wear his name on their backs.

Reports have come out that Provorov’s Philadelphia Flyers’ jersey is selling out amidst fan support of his religious convictions and courage to stand up to the woke mob.

The Daily Wire wrote:

National Hockey League player Ivan Provorov’s jersey was sold out on several websites in men’s sizes on Thursday after the player did not take part in an LGBTQ event due to his religion earlier in the week.

As of Thursday afternoon, on the Fanatics and NHL Shop sites, the jersey did not appear to be available in men’s sizes and was only able to be purchased in women’s sizes. Other apparel seemed to be available for purchase, as were custom made jerseys.Provorov made waves after he refused to wear a pride-themed warm-up shirt before a game on the Flyers’ Pride Night, while alson refusing to wrap in hockey stick in rainbow colors.

Addressing the media, he made it clear he both respects everyone’s choices but also firmly believed in honoring his own self and religion.

As you can hear in the clip, Ivan Provorov said “Everybody, I respect everybody’s choices. My choice is to stay true to myself and my religion. That’s all I’m gonna say. Any type of time I’m going to comment on that. If you have any hockey questions, I would I would answer those…”

The Flyers released a statement as the woke crowd started losing its mind, saying “The Philadelphia Flyers organization is committed to inclusivity and is proud to support the LGBTQ+ community. Many of our players are active in their support of local LGBTQ+ organizations, and we were proud to host our annual Pride Night again this year. The Flyers will continue to be strong advocates for inclusivity and the LGBTQ+ community.”

Flyers coach John Tortorella also spoke about the matter, saying “With Provy, he’s being true to himself and to his religion. This has to do with his belief and his religion. It’s one thing I respect about Provy: He’s always true to himself. That’s where we’re at with that.”

When asked if the player would be benched for standing by his beliefs, the coach scoffed at such a notion.

“Why would I bench him? Because of a decision he’s making on his beliefs and his religion?” Tortorella also said. “It turned out to be a great night for Pride night.”
